Pitch A Friend
Code of Conduct
Here at Pitch A Friend we take the safety of our members and attendees very seriously. As such we have put forth the following code of conduct for attending our events and interacting with other attendees. Failure to adhere to the code of conduct will result in removal from events and possibly being banned from future events. We reserve the right to refuse admission or services for any reason and especially to anyone who is deemed a risk to our members or attendees.
consent matters
We take consent and respecting boundaries very seriously at our events. We have zero tolerance for bad behavior and if there are reports of offenders we will kindly have you removed to protect the experience of other participants.
no misogynistic behavior
Our events are meant to be a safe space for people of all genders and identities to feel comfortable as they work to find their person. Leave unwelcome comments and rude thoughts on the internet or better yet see a therapist.
don’t hassle attendees
after an event
Everyone at our events has a right to their privacy and their own safety.
If someone catches your eye at an event and you’d like to see them again, strike up a conversation and ask for contact information.
Do not use the internet to track down attendees against their wishes.
If someone hassles you after an event, please let us know and we’ll take action to prevent them from joining future events.
no unwanted touching
Respect a person’s right to their personal space.
no means no,
no matter the context
Consent matters so we’re saying it again - “no”’s are to be taken seriously at our events, please respect a persons right to say no.
Asking for contact information of someone you’d like to get to know? Asking someone out on a date? If it’s a “no,” it means no. Don’t take it personally and move on to the next conversation.
Many people take this to mean they aren’t allowed to ask for contact information. Ask away but if they reject you, keep your head high and move on.
safety is number one
Your safety matters to us! Any actions or speech that puts the mental and physical health of attendees at risk will not be tolerated.
If your behavior puts the safety of the community or anyone in the community at risk you will be asked to leave, banned from future events, and if necessary referred to law enforcement.
To sum it up - consent matters, be a good person, and any action that jeopardizes the safety of the community or anyone in the community will be taken seriously. If you put others at risk we will take any action we deem necessary to make sure our attendees are safe and can feel comfortable to be themselves.
